Product Warranty
Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty
We are committed to the quality of our products and offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. If you believe your item has a manufacturing defect, please return it to us for inspection. Should we confirm that the defect is due to manufacturing, we will either repair or, if deemed appropriate, replace the item. If the original item is no longer available, we may replace it with a similar item or issue a refund equal to the original purchase price.
If the damage is not found to be a manufacturing defect, we will inform you and provide options for repair services, which may be available at an additional cost.
Please note that slight irregularities and variations in craftsmanship, as well as natural inclusions in colored gemstones, are inherent to each piece and are considered part of the item’s unique character rather than defects.
Complimentary Cleaning and Inspection Services for Diamond Rings
We recommend having your diamond ring cleaned and inspected every six months or if it undergoes any potential trauma. Regular inspections can help prevent stone loss and extend the life of your jewelry. Blue Nile offers complimentary cleaning and inspection services for diamond rings, with the customer only responsible for shipping costs. We will cover return shipping. Repairs to the ring mounting can also be performed during this service, at cost.
Conditions and Exclusions
This Manufacturer Warranty and the Complimentary Services are available only to the original purchaser of the product from Blue Nile.
Any maintenance, repair, sizing, or other service performed by anyone other than Blue Nile will void the Manufacturer Warranty.
Fine jewelry is susceptible to normal wear, activities, and trauma, especially rings which endure significant use. We do not cover damage due to normal wear, product loss, loss of stones, or theft. Damage or loss resulting from failure to obtain necessary repairs to maintain product integrity is also excluded from coverage.
Examples of issues not considered manufacturing defects include:
-
Discoloration from exposure to chemicals, cosmetics, swimming pools, hot tubs, or bathing.
-
Wear on prongs and precious metals over time, which may require restoration or "building up" as part of normal wear.
-
Bent or worn prongs that cause a stone to fall out due to normal wear or damage.
-
Lost stones or stones falling out due to chipping or breaking from normal wear or other damage.
